Services

This site has spent years explaining how to do yard work yourself. This section covers the other half — the jobs where the honest answer is that hiring someone is cheaper, safer, or the only legal option.

The short answer

Nothing here will tell you to hire out a job you can do. What each page does instead is name the specific point where a job stops being a weekend — a ladder height, a licence you can’t get, equipment nobody owns, a colony that will go into the room instead of out the window — and leave everything short of that point to you.

Which section do you need?

The guides are still free and still the first thing to read. The lawn care, products and reviews archives predate this section by years. If a job is genuinely doable, that’s where the method lives — in full, with no number attached to it.

How this section is paid for

Some pages here carry a phone number. When you call it we’re paid a fee by the network that connects you — whether or not you book anything. That’s the entire model. It has one obvious failure mode, so the rule here is that roughly half the answers end with no number at all, and the ones that do name the specific thing that put them there.
